U-Haul Assists Flood Victims Across Three States
The U-Haul disaster relief program is now available to U.S. residents impacted by severe flooding in recent days. A total of 29 U-Haul facilities are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage. The participating properties are located across Kentucky (18) as well as northern Middle Tennessee (9) and southern Indiana (2).
A massive winter weather front generated tragic and intense flash flooding over the weekend, with countless homes sustaining water damage and numerous communities left with power outages and impassible roads. Kentucky declared a state of emergency.
Access to dry and secure self-storage rooms and portable storage containers is critical for communities during the recovery process. The 30 days goodwill offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability at participating U-Haul-owned and -operated locations. The free U-Box option is for on-site storage at centers or self-delivery (There is a charge for U-Haul to deliver to residential addresses).
Sixteen U-Haul Co. of Louisville locations are extending the offer. They are located in the Kentucky cities of Louisville, Lexington, Lyndon, Owensboro, Radcliff, and Versailles, as well as Evansville and Jeffersonville, Ind. The thirteen U-Haul Co. of North Nashville stores participating are in the Tennessee cities of Madison, Clarksville, Nashville, Hendersonville, and Old Hickory, as well as Bowling Green and Oak Grove, Ky.
In addition to its 30 days free self-storage disaster relief program, U-Haul is proud to be at the forefront of aiding communities in times of need as an official American Red Cross Disaster Responder.
