How long has Messenger been around?

Messenger was first published in 1979 as Mini-Storage Messenger, "the original voice of the self-storage industry." For nearly 45 years, Messenger has been providing the self-storage industry with the educational information and analytic tools they need to be successful.

Can I access the digital version if I have a print subscription?

You must subscribe to the digital edition in order to access it. Digital-only subscriptions and print-digital combo subscriptions are available on our website or by calling (602) 308-6383.

I want to place an order, but I am having difficulty using the website. Is there another way to place an order?

Yes, you may place an order over the phone by calling (602) 308-6383.

Is the Self-Storage Almanac available in a digital format?

Yes, the Almanac is available in print and digital, as well as a combo with both print and digital. Please note the digital version of the Almanac is accessible online and can not be printed or downloaded as a pdf.

Can I purchase individual charts/tables from the Self-Storage Almanac?

No, the Almanac is sold only in its entirety.

Is the Expense Guidebook available as a hard copy?

No, the Expense Guidebook is only available in a digital PDF format.

How do I submit a press release?

Do you accept story ideas?

Yes! Submit your ideas to Publisher Poppy Behrens by e-mail at poppy@modernstoragemedia.com. You may choose to have the story idea attributed to you or remain anonymous. If you wish to be included in the story, please provide your contact information so one of our writers can reach out to you for additional information or quotes.

I haven’t received my latest issue/order. What should I do?

Messenger magazines are mailed to subscribers as soon as they are published, however the day they are mailed each month may vary. Other publications are sent as soon as orders come in following processing. Please allow 10 business days for the processing and shipping of an order. If you haven’t received your order within 10 business days, you can call (602) 308-6383 for assistance.

Is ordering from your website secure?

The MSM store is powered by Shopify, a leading eCommerce platform. Shopify offers PCI compliant payment processing and encryption for customer data. Read more on the Shopify website.

Why is the Canadian subscription to Messenger more expensive?

The cost is higher because of the U.S. Postal Service rates to mail to Canada. Subscriptions to Mexico, as well as International subscriptions, are also priced higher than the U.S. subscriptions. The alternative is to subscribe to the digital edition.

What shipping options do you offer?

If you are just subscribing to the Messenger, shipping costs are included in the subscription price. Shipping costs for mixed orders (downloads and books) are calculated depending on your location. Be sure to watch for the page with the link to downloadable articles. Downloads will also be attached to a confirmation e-mail. “Downloadable Only” applies to archived articles, archived issues and digital only products such as the Expense Guidebook, Almanac Supplements, and Top Operator’s Kit.

Expedited shipping is available on all orders via UPS. Orders placed after 3 p.m., MST, will be processed and sent the next business day. Orders to locations in Mexico must ship via UPS to assure delivery. Orders to locations in Canada and all other locations outside the U.S. will be shipped via International Priority Mail. Priority Mail for most U.S. locations takes 2-3 business days

I just ordered a digital copy of my publication. How do I access it?

If you ordered a digital Almanac, a unique link will be emailed to you after your purchase within a few hours. If you do not see those emails, please check your Junk/Spam folders. If you still do not receive those emails, please call (602) 308-6383 or e-mail carlos@modernstoragemedia.com. If you ordered a different digital publication, you should receive an automated email with access to the pdf.

I misplaced the receipt with my digital link can I get a new one emailed?

How do I change my email address or physical address for my magazine subscription?

I just received a notification that my new digital publication is here but I forgot my password. What do I do?

When you login to Hubspot to view the publication landing page, you can click the "Forgot Password" option to change your login credentials. If you still need assistance, please give us a call at (602) 308-6383.

I am having trouble accessing/opening my digital publication up what should I do?

The ideal browser for accessing your digital edition of Messenger is Google Chrome. Try opening the link in Chrome first; if you are still having trouble, call us at (602) 308-6383.

Can I share my digital issue of Messenger?

No, they cannot be shared since Messenger is a paid circulation magazine. The login on the landing page is tied to your login credentials through Hubspot. We do offer special pricing for group subscriptions. Please contact carlos@modernstoragemedia.com for more information.
