U-Haul Offers 30 Days of Free Storage to Arizona Flood Victims
Nine U-Haul companies in Arizona are providing 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box portable storage container use at 94 locations to residents affected by severe flooding across the state.
The flooding followed heavy rainfall from Friday through Sunday, sending rivers and creeks over their banks in communities ranging from the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas to Flagstaff, Prescott, Sedona and the White Mountains. The storms prompted evacuations and water rescues, and Prescott declared a state of emergency. Residential and commercial properties throughout the state sustained water damage.
The disaster relief program provides one month of storage at no cost to new customers who need a dry, secure place for belongings while recovering from the flooding. Offers are subject to availability. U-Box containers are available for on-site storage at participating facilities, with delivery offered for an additional fee.
Residents can arrange the assistance by visiting a U-Haul-owned and -operated facility in one of the participating communities or contacting the appropriate regional office.
The nine participating companies cover communities throughout Arizona, with regional offices serving the following areas:
- U-Haul Co. of East Valley: Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek and Sun Lakes; (480) 899-1461.
- U-Haul Co. of Eastern Arizona: Apache Junction, Globe, Mesa and Tempe; (480) 347-9199.
- U-Haul Co. of Metro Phoenix: Fountain Hills, Phoenix and Scottsdale; (602) 977-0519.

The company said the program is part of its broader disaster-relief efforts. U-Haul also serves as an official American Red Cross Disaster Responder.
For customers who need storage beyond the initial free period, U-Haul offers its 1-Year Price Lock program at 2,100 company-owned facilities across the United States and Canada. The program guarantees no rental rate increase for at least 12 months. U-Haul also said it does not charge administrative fees or deposits.
