The Storage Center Opens Applications for Fall '26 Scholarship Program
The Storage Center is accepting applications for its Fall 2026 Space to Succeed Scholarship, offering three $5,000 awards to college students demonstrating measurable community leadership.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Central time on Nov. 30, 2026. The program recognizes students who have initiated community service, advocacy or other efforts to address local needs.
Now in its fourth cycle, the scholarship program has awarded $45,000 to nine students since launching in spring 2025. The Spring 2026 application period attracted more than 2,000 submissions from across the country.
Past recipients include a Texas A&M University student who collected more than 9,500 coats for families in need, a nursing student and mother of four attending LSU Eunice, and a University of Alabama in Huntsville student whose stroke-awareness initiative raised more than $10,000 and helped save six lives.
“Every scholarship cycle, we hear from students who identified a problem in their community and built something to solve it, often without anyone asking them to,” said Robert Piper, principal at The Storage Center. “This scholarship exists to find those students and help them keep going. If you've been doing that kind of work, we'd like to hear your story.”
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, legal U.S. residents and enrolled in an accredited U.S. college, university or community college. They must submit a 500- to 800-word essay describing their community service commitment, explaining how their education will help expand their impact, and providing examples of their service, leadership or advocacy. A headshot and a photo documenting their community work are also required.
Applications are free and must be submitted online through The Storage Center's scholarship webpage.
Winners will be announced in January 2027 and featured on the company's website, social media channels and in a national press release. The Storage Center also contacts recipients' hometown media outlets to increase visibility for their community efforts.
The company awards six Space to Succeed Scholarships annually, with three recipients selected in each of its fall and spring cycles. Applications for the Spring 2027 program are scheduled to open April 1, 2027.
