Tallahassee Storage King Suffers Fire Damage
Storage King USA caught fire Saturday evening and damaged “several units,” according to a press release from the Tallahassee Fire Department.
The department said they arrived to see “heavy smoke and fire coming from a single-story self-storage facility.”
Fire crews entered the building by forcing open “several large commercial roll-up doors,” according to the media release. The crews then attacked the fire to stop it from spreading to other units, the fire department said.
According to TFD, several storage units were damaged in the fire, but they said the majority of them were saved due to fire walls inside the building.
TFD said crews arrived at the scene in less than five minutes and were assisted by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County EMS and City of Tallahassee Utilities. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
