storabble Launches World’s First Self-Storage Marketplace ChatGPT App
Swiss startup storabble has launched what it says is the world's first ChatGPT app operated by a self-storage marketplace, allowing users to search and compare storage listings directly within ChatGPT.
The new app currently provides access to storage listings across France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with additional countries expected to be added as the company expands its European footprint.
Founded with the goal of simplifying the storage search process, storabble said the ChatGPT integration enables users to describe their storage needs in natural language and receive matching listings from across the marketplace without leaving the chat interface.
"We want to make finding a storage unit as convenient as it can possibly be. Which channel gets our users there doesn't matter to us. Whether someone uses storabble as a traditional marketplace or inside ChatGPT: we're equally happy either way," said Oliver Meyer, founder of storabble and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree.
The launch comes as artificial intelligence continues to reshape online search and customer engagement across the self-storage industry. While operators have begun introducing AI-powered tools, storabble said its ChatGPT app is the first to bring a marketplace model—aggregating listings from multiple storage providers—directly into the AI platform.
According to the company, Public Storage has launched a ChatGPT app in the United States that allows customers to search the company's own facilities. Storabble said no marketplace-based equivalent currently exists in the U.S.
"Storage is a fragmented market almost everywhere. That's exactly why the marketplace model belongs in AI search: when someone asks ChatGPT for storage, they should see the whole market, not a single operator. We're proud to be the first to make that happen," Meyer said.
The company said it plans to continue expanding the app's capabilities, with the long-term goal of allowing users to search, compare and book its full inventory—including self-storage units, garages and warehouse space—entirely within ChatGPT.
The launch follows storabble's recent expansion into France in early July, marking the company's fourth European market. Additional country launches are planned as the Switzerland-based company continues to grow its marketplace platform.
