Meathead Movers Holds Relief Drive For Los Angeles Wildfire Victims
Meathead Movers is holding a relief drive in San Luis Obispo, Calif., this weekend for victims of the wildfires in L.A.
“Never seen anything like this," said Zach Devries, employee development manager for Meathead Movers. "I've been actually watching tons of interviews and footage the past few days, it's hard not to. But yeah, it looks like a war zone down there,”
Through Sunday, people are invited to stop by Meathead Movers’ Mini Storage on South Higuera in SLO, or in Oxnard on Maulhardt Ave., to drop off donations.
“We’ve had quite a few people already come in," continued DeVries, stating that they've done similar drives in the past in the wake of natural disasters. "We've got the boxes halfway filled."
The best items to donate are new hygiene items like soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, diapers, and baby wipes, as well as bottled water.
"I was a firefighter back in 2019, so I know what these people are going through," said Michael Mathiesen, operations manager at
Meathead Movers. “I hope that everybody’s safe and gets through it, and we're thankful for all the firefighters and everybody helping out."
