Kenneth Worsdale Joins Vietnam Self-Storage Leader MyStorage
After securing investment from EMIA, MyStorage welcomes former Extra Space Asia CEO Kenneth Worsdale to its board, marking a key step as Vietnam emerges as Asia’s next high-growth self-storage market.
Industry Veteran with Extensive Regional Experience
Effective 1st of November 2025, Kenneth stepped in as a new board member of MyStorage, while Aric Austin, Founder of MyStorage, remains the CEO of the enterprise.
Kenneth is a highly respected leader in the Asian self-storage sector with a long track record across multiple high-growth markets. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Extra Space Asia, one of the region’s largest self-storage operators, where he oversaw the group’s portfolio across Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia.
Under his leadership, Extra Space Asia significantly expanded its footprint, strengthened operational frameworks, and became the benchmark for service quality and regional performance.
Prior to leading Extra Space Asia, Kenneth held senior roles in Asia with both private and public companies in various industries, bringing broad expertise in operations, market development, financial responsibility and sustainable long-term asset value creation. His leadership is rooted in people, not hierarchy, empowering local teams to grow and enabling customers to adopt digital solutions effortlessly.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kenneth to MyStorage,” said Aric Austin. “His leadership experience across the region and his deep understanding of operational excellence in the self-storage sector will be invaluable as we continue to elevate service standards and expand our footprint in Vietnam and beyond.”

Vietnam — the Next Frontier for Regional Self-Storage Leaders
Vietnam’s self-storage sector is still in its early stages but is expanding rapidly, driven by urbanization, rising living costs, and strong demand for flexible space solutions in major cities. Multiple industry studies project that the market will more than double in size over the next five years, mirroring the growth trajectories seen in Singapore and Hong Kong during their early development phases.
Last month, MyStorage secured a multi-million-dollar investment from Emerging Markets Investment Advisers (EMIA), a Singapore-based private equity fund backed by leading global development finance institutions. The investment marks EMIA’s first entry into Vietnam, signalling strong international confidence in the country’s fast-growing self-storage sector and in MyStorage’s position as the market leader in Vietnam.
The funding supports MyStorage’s expansion across Ho Chi Minh City, enhancements to its digital platform, and ongoing ESG initiatives, including sustainable construction practices and recycling-focused projects. The appointment of experienced regional talent like Kenneth empowers MyStorage to accelerate its ambitions and fully capitalize on the momentum of its new investment.
“Kenneth is one of the most respected leaders in the Asian self-storage sector,” said Joshua Morris, CEO of EMIA. “His operational expertise and regional perspective make him an exceptional addition to MyStorage. Following our recent investment, we are confident that his guidance, combined with MyStorage’s strong local team, will accelerate the company’s growth and strengthen its position as the standard-setter for modern, sustainable storage solutions in Vietnam.”
Kenneth added: “Vietnam is one of the most promising emerging markets for self-storage, sharing many of the economic characteristics seen in established markets like Singapore and Hong Kong, including rapid urbanization and rising living costs. MyStorage has already built a strong foundation with a clear focus on quality and customer experience, and I look forward to supporting the team through this next stage of growth with an immediate focus on best-in-class operations and regional investment practices.”
