Extra Space Storage Team Volunteers to Clean Up Salt Lake City’s Folsom Trail
Team members from Extra Space Storage, a Utah-based S&P 500 company, recently dedicated two days to cleaning up Salt Lake City’s Folsom Trail. In partnership with Seven Canyons Trust and the Salt Lake City Department of Public Lands, 100 Extra Space Storage team members came together to help maintain and enhance this growing community space.

During the two-day project, volunteers removed 355 pounds of trash and 1,432 pounds of weeds from the trail. Their efforts supported the ongoing transformation of a former rail line into a vibrant community pathway that connects residents to recreation, nature, and the Jordan River Trail.
Seven Canyons Trust is a local nonprofit dedicated to restoring buried and impaired creeks throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Its work helps improve water quality and strengthen local ecosystems through native plantings, creek bank restoration, and other green infrastructure projects.
“I’m proud of how our team came together to support a space that means so much to our local community,” said Grace Houser, Corporate Giving Project Lead at Extra Space Storage. “Our team accomplished so much in just two days, and it was rewarding to know our efforts would help improve the trail for the many people who use and enjoy it.”

Extra Space Storage is committed to addressing community needs and creating a positive impact across the 43 states where it operates. This project is one example of the many volunteer efforts made by Extra Space Storage team members across the country.
