Brown University Shooter Found Dead In Storage Unit
The suspect in the December 13 shooting at Brown University was found dead inside a storage unit at an Extra Space Storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire, following a multi-state search involving local and federal authorities, say law enforcement officials.
The shooting occurred inside the Barus & Holley engineering building on Brown’s Providence, Rhode Island, campus. Two students were killed and nine others were injured. The suspect fled the scene, prompting an intensive manhunt across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Authorities identified a vehicle of interest connected to the case near the Salem storage facility. Investigators determined the suspect had rented a unit at the location. Police secured the property and conducted a search Thursday, Dec. 18.
Inside the unit, officers found the suspect deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No other injuries were reported at the scene. The suspect’s identity has not been publicly released, pending notification of family members.
This story has been compiled from several outlets; the investigation remains ongoing.
