AG&E Expands Through Acquisition of United Structural Design

AG&E Associates has expanded its structural engineering capabilities through the acquisition of United Structural Design (USD), a move that broadens its national footprint and strengthens its expertise across several high-growth sectors.

The transaction brings United Structural Design, a firm founded in 2013, into the AG&E platform after more than a decade of independent operations. Going forward, USD will continue serving clients under the AG&E organization while maintaining continuity in project teams and customer relationships.

According to the companies, the integration gives United Structural Design access to AG&E’s nationwide network of engineering professionals and specialized technical resources. The combined platform now includes a team of approximately 370 structural engineering professionals operating from 14 office locations across the United States and internationally.

The acquisition is expected to enhance the firms’ ability to support complex projects in sectors including data centers, advanced manufacturing, aviation and other specialized engineering markets.

Company leaders emphasized that existing client relationships and project delivery teams will remain unchanged despite the transition, allowing customers to continue working with the engineers, project managers and staff they have worked with previously.

The combination also provides United Structural Design with access to additional engineering expertise and operational resources as demand for specialized structural engineering services continues to grow.

Founded in 2004, AG&E has expanded into a multi-office engineering platform with operations on three continents. The firm holds registrations and licenses in all 50 U.S. states and has earned recognition in industry rankings, including placement among the top engineering firms serving the data center sector.

For AG&E, the acquisition represents another step in its growth strategy, while for United Structural Design it provides additional scale and resources to support future projects and client needs.

The companies said the partnership is intended to build on United Structural Design’s longstanding focus on technical excellence and client service while positioning the combined organization to pursue larger and more complex opportunities across North America and beyond.
