UNITS Earns Fourth Consecutive Franchise Times Top 400 Ranking
UNITS Moving and Portable Storage has been named to the 2026 Franchise Times Top 400 for the fourth consecutive year, adding to a series of industry and consumer awards recognizing the company’s franchise system, customer service and position in the moving and portable storage market.
The latest recognition follows several other honors for the company, including the 2026 Global Franchise Awards’ Best Property Maintenance Franchise award. UNITS Franchising Group has also been recognized as an Inc. Power Partner and an Inc. Best in Business honoree.
“These recognitions are a reflection of the people behind the UNITS brand,” said Michael McAlhany, CEO of UNITS Franchising Group. “Our franchise owners and their teams are building strong businesses in their communities while delivering the personal service our customers expect from UNITS. To see that work recognized by leading franchise organizations, publications and, importantly, consumers is incredibly meaningful.”
The company’s continued presence on the Franchise Times Top 400 and Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 reflects its expanding franchise network. UNITS ranked No. 474 on the 2025 Entrepreneur Franchise 500, marking its fourth consecutive year on that list.
UNITS has also invested in its proprietary StoreSmart™ technology platform, which integrates franchise operations such as reservations, customer management, logistics, reporting and billing. Continued development of the system is intended to improve operational efficiency, provide franchise owners with greater visibility into their businesses and enhance the customer experience.
The company has also received recognition from consumer-focused publications and reviewers. In 2026, UNITS ranked No. 2 among portable storage companies in Reviewed’s Readers’ Choice Awards, based on reader voting. Forbes Advisor named the company the Best Moving Container Company for Customer Reviews, while Newsweek ranked it No. 2 among moving container companies. UNITS was also included among U.S. News’ Top Moving Container Companies of 2026.
“These awards mean more when you look at them together,” McAlhany said. “We’re continuing to grow as a franchise system, but we’re also focused on earning the trust of the customers who rely on our local owners and teams during some of life’s biggest transitions. That combination is what we’re working to build for the long term.”
UNITS operates a network of locally owned and operated locations offering portable moving and storage solutions for residential and commercial customers, contractors and restoration professionals. The company said it will continue investing in technology, franchisee support and customer service as it expands its footprint.
