“Storage Wars” Personality Darrell Sheets Dies at 67
Darrell Sheets, known to viewers as “The Gambler” on the long-running A&E series Storage Wars, died April 22 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. He was 67.
According to the Lake Havasu City Police Department, officers responded to a residence around 2 a.m. and located a male who had suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.
Sheets appeared in more than 160 episodes of Storage Wars between 2010 and 2023, earning a reputation for high-risk bidding and big-ticket finds. The series followed professional buyers competing at storage unit auctions in hopes of uncovering valuable items.
In addition to the show, Sheets made appearances on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and other television programs. His son, Brandon Sheets, also appeared alongside him on Storage Wars.
Following a heart attack in 2019, Sheets retired to Arizona, where he operated an antique store, Havasu Show Me Your Junk.
