Patchwork Labs Joins SBOA Network of Verified Service Providers

Patchwork Labs has joined the Self-Storage Business Owners Alliance (SBOA) network of Verified Service Providers, adding its operator-built artificial intelligence platform to the organization’s growing group of technology and service partners.

Patchwork Labs was founded by the operators of Homegrown Storage after they encountered the challenge of managing customer calls outside regular business hours. The company initially developed technology for its own facilities in smaller markets, where missed calls could translate into missed move-ins.

The technology was subsequently made available to other self-storage operators and has evolved into an AI platform designed to support customer communications and operational workflows.

Patchwork said its technology is tested at Homegrown Storage facilities before being introduced to customers. The platform handles customer conversations around the clock, converts conversations into tasks, routes work to employees or vendors, tracks projects through completion and helps operators monitor activity across their portfolios.

The company also recently introduced Patchwork Ads, which uses call data to provide more detailed conversion signals for Google Ads campaigns. Rather than treating every call of a certain length as a conversion, the technology analyzes what occurred during the conversation and sends that information back to the advertising account. Patchwork said the approach is designed to increase the number of calls that generate revenue while reducing the cost per revenue-generating call.

Patchwork said its partnership with the SBOA aligns with the organization's focus on helping independent self-storage operators compete through education, purchasing power and industry connections.

Patchwork said it plans to use its relationship with the SBOA to share insights gathered from customer conversations while learning from operators with different business models and operating strategies.
