OpenTech Alliance Announces Partnership With Storco in AU/NZ
OpenTech Alliance, a global PropTech leader in self storage, has announced a new strategic partnership with Storco, a premier company in the design, manufacture, and installation of fitout systems for the self storage industry in Australia and New Zealand. Through this collaboration, Storco will offer roller and swing doors engineered specifically for the INSOMNIAC SmartLock® electronic locking system, enabling faster, higher-quality installations for operators across the region.
This international alliance marks OpenTech’s first manufacturing integration in the Australasian region and reflects growing demand among local operators for sophisticated access solutions that combine seamless manufacturing and operational efficiency and reliability.
As part of the partnership, Storco has expanded its standard production line. Operators who request the technology can have their roller and swing doors pre-punched to suit the INSOMNIAC Smartlock at the point of manufacture. This eliminates on-site measurements and drilling to boost both speed and quality of installation, significantly reducing labour time and margin for error.
“By partnering with Storco, we’re empowering storage operators in Australasia to implement automated unit access quicker and more reliably,” said Kristi Adams, Chief Marketing Officer at OpenTech Alliance. “Storco’s reputation for manufacturing excellence and regional expertise makes them the ideal partner to support our expansion to deliver a superior install experience for our customers, and a better keyless entry experience for their tenants.”
OpenTech Alliance, who has expanded select self storage solutions to the region, brings over 23 years of experience delivering technology solutions for self storage. The INSOMNIAC SmartLock system is a Bluetooth-enabled, keyless locking system that offers renters secure, smartphone or keypad based access to their units, while giving operators full visibility and control via the cloud.
“We’re excited to support OpenTech’s vision for smarter storage with a solution that aligns with our commitment to innovation and quality,” said Louis Funnell, Sales and Marketing Manager at Storco. “Operators can specify SmartLock installations early in the development cycle and be confident that the finished product is consistent and ready to deliver a tech-enabled storage experience from day one.”
With this new partnership, operators across Australia and New Zealand can accelerate deployment of SmartLocks to future-proof their facilities and stay ahead of evolving customer expectations.
Both companies will exhibit at the SSAA’s SYD25 Self Storage Week event in Sydney 10-13 November. Operators interested in learning more about the partnership or lock integration can visit OpenTech (Stand #2) or Storco (Stands #22 and 4) to connect with company representatives and view SmartLocks displayed on Storco doors.
