Hazmat Team Called In To Los Angeles Storage Facility
A Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) hazmat team was called Saturday to a SoCal Self Storage in Hollywood where a locked unit on the second floor of the self-storage facility was off-gassing an odor detectable by a gas monitor.
The LAFD got the call at 4:17 p.m. from the facility, located at 5900 W. Hollywood Blvd., at Bronson Avenue. Firefighters evacuated a restaurant that occupied the first floor and the rest of the building to await action by the hazmat specialists,
By 5:40 p.m., officials reported the odor was identified as coming from the spill of a cleaning product and no hazard was posed.
