Extra Space Storage has announced that the next exciting chapter in the company's story begins on January 1, 2027, as Company President Noah Springer becomes the next Chief Executive Officer.

Springer joined Extra Space in 2006 and has been a member of the Company’s senior management team since 2014 and a member of the executive team since 2020. He was promoted to President of Extra Space Storage on January 5, 2026. In his role as President, Springer oversees the company’s third-party management, joint ventures, people, and operations teams.

For nearly 20 years, Springer has been a significant contributor to the Company's strategy, growth, and culture. His vision, creativity, and leadership have helped Extra Space Storage become a high performing large cap REIT.

When Springer joined the Extra Space team in 2006, he managed existing partners and worked to acquire third-party managed contracts for the Storage USA portfolio, which was acquired by Extra Space just before he joined the company. This led him to help develop, lead, and grow the Company's third-party management platform, Management Plus, which today is the storage sector's largest third-party management platform with over 1,800 locations.

Springer has been instrumental in several large acquisitions in his role as Chief Strategy and Partnership Officer. In 2022, he led the acquisition of Storage Express, a 107-property portfolio across Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Kentucky. Then in 2023, he was a key leader through the largest merger and acquisition in Utah’s business history – the $15 billion deal with Life Storage, Inc. Following this acquisition, Extra Space became the largest storage operator in the country.

Springer views leadership as stewardship of a long-term enterprise and that it is his responsibility is to strengthen the foundation, develop the next generation of leaders, and position the company to win not just this quarter or this cycle, but long term. Springer believes that investing in people is key to building both culture and performance, and he spends significant time coaching leaders, asking questions, and helping teams think on a higher level. Springer focuses on setting clear priorities, aligning around measurable outcomes, and ensuring we are disciplined in execution. Strategy is important — but he believes execution and accountability are what ultimately create value.

For Springer, his motivation stems from building great teams, creating durable shareholder value, and ensuring Extra Space remains a company that its employees are proud to represent and that customers trust.
