Congressman & Storage CEO Troy Downing Talks AI Literacy
Earlier this week, Republican Congressman Troy Downing of Montana (and co-founder of AC Self Storage Solutions) sat down with Democratic Congresswoman Hillary Scholten of Michigan on NBC's "Finding Common Ground" to discuss AI literacy.
"Some industries will lose jobs to automation — that happens with every major technological leap — but new opportunities always emerge," says Downing. "The point is ensuring small businesses can adapt and use AI to become more efficient while managing threats like fraud and misuse. Small businesses need guidance, guardrails, and resources to protect themselves."
Although they're from different parties, the duo believe bipartisan agreement is needed on many technology and small-business issues, and that there often is—it's just that the public doesn't always realize it because party conflict grabs more headlines.
