TEMECULA, CA – During the month of Feb. 2012, officers from the Temecula Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team investigated several incidents of burglary reported to have occurred at various self-storage businesses within the city of Temecula. During one such burglary, from a secured unit at the business “Storage Express” located on Winchester Road, the suspects made entry into a storage unit and stole merchandise to include clothing, antiques, power tools, electronics and other collectable memorabilia. The total stolen merchandise in this incident was valued at several thousand dollars. Through the continued investigative efforts of the Special Enforcement Team, two suspects in this burglary were identified. With help from the Menifee Police Department, the suspects, identified as Aaron Nixon and Michelle Morgan, were located at a residence in the 29900 Block of Berea Rd., in the city of Menifee. A search of the residence was conducted and numerous items from the “Storage Express” burglary were recovered. During the course of the investigation, it was learned the suspects were also renting a storage unit at “Storage Express” in Temecula and a search warrant for their storage unit was obtained. The search warrant yielded numerous other items of stolen property belonging to the same victim. It is estimated that several thousand dollars worth of property was recovered from the residence in Menifee and from the search warrant in Temecula. As a result of the investigation, two suspects were arrested for the following crimes and booked at the Southwest Detention Center: Aaron Nixon, 36 years old from Menifee, burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics, possession of an illegal weapon (sap) and for committing a felony while on bail. Michelle Morgan, 33 years old from Menifee, burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics and possession of an illegal weapon (sap). The extensive investigation by the Temecula Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team is the result of their ongoing effort to identify and arrest subjects conducting criminal activity in the city of Temecula.
