The Easton Police Department is investigating an extensive burglary at a self storage center on Pintail Drive, according to a news release. Police said an officer saw more than one person fleeing from Carolton Self Storage at 1:30 a.m. Saturday and upon investigation of the scene, found 35 units had been broken into. Police said it is unknown what was stolen from the storage center.
Self-Storage Units in Easton, Md Burglarized Over Weekend
Anyone with a unit there should check it and report missing property to the Easton Police Department.
This is the second large scale burglary reported this year at Carolton Self Storage. Police said 50 units had locks broken and removed there Jan. 2, but reported only two items appeared to have been taken in the burglary.
Police are also continuing to look into a string of reported thefts this month at businesses on U.S. Route 50 and Industrial Park Drive.
On Route 50, burglaries were reported at Jiffy Lube and the Fred Frederick Dodge dealership, while those businesses broken into no Industrial Park Drive included Celeste Industries Inc. and Chance and Associates.
