Gilliland Inducted Into the PASSA Hall of Fame

Investment Real Estate, LLC (IRE) is proud to announce the induction of John H. Gilliland into the Pennsylvania Self Storage Association (PASSA) Hall of Fame on October 3, 2018.
John H. Gilliland is president and founder of the Investment Real Estate Group of Companies including, Investment Real Estate, LLC, Investment Real Estate Management, LLC, Investment Real Estate Construction, LLC and Moove In Self Storage. Gilliland founded the brokerage firm of Investment Real Estate, LLC (IRE) in 1998. IRE serves the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states and boasts sales of self storage properties at over $950 million in more than 450 transactions. John’s team at IRE has more than 75 years of combined experience in brokerage, construction and development, management and marketing within the self storage industry.
Kevin Bledsoe, VP of Brokerage for IRE who also serves on the Board of Directors for PASSA, states, “John’s been a leader and advocate for the self storage industry both in Pennsylvania and at the national level over the past 20 years. He’s played a key role in the development of PASSA, and played a vital role increasing membership growth and the growth of the self storage industry in Pennsylvania.”
Gilliland served as president of the PASSA from 2002–2006 and was an integral member of its formation in 1998. The Pennsylvania Self Storage Association is a group of self storage owners and operators who follow a Code of Ethics which establishes and promotes the highest standards of professional service and ethical business conduct among the members of the Association in all their dealings with their self service storage customers, their colleagues in the industry and the general public.
When asked about being inducted into the PASSA Hall of Fame, John H. Gilliland says, “I could not have imagined 20 years ago that there would even be a PASSA Hall of Fame, let alone being inducted in its inaugural class. This is quite the honor, and I am humbled that the Board and membership saw fit to include me. I am so very grateful to all of our customers, clients, vendors, lenders, partners and employees for their unending support for me and all of the companies. I would also like to thank my wife, Denise, as well as my first partners – my father and mother, John G and Karen Gilliland. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Gilliland is currently a member of the Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Virginia and New York Self Storage Associations as well as the national Self Storage Association. He was elected to the National Board of Directors of the Self Storage Association located in Washington D.C. in 2003 and served as Chairman of the Board in 2007. He also served as Chairman of the SSA Foundation Board in 2017.
