After recognizing a growing need for convenient, reliable storage in the Eastern Ontario city, which maintains strong historical and military ties, Apple Self Storage decided to build a state-of-the-art facility within easy reach of residents and postsecondary students. The modern facility, the newest among Apple Self Storage’s 15 locations spread throughout Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, is home to more than 35,000 square feet of space for storing items of all shapes and sizes. Both heated and unheated units are available, and customers can even comfortably store vehicles thanks to a high-tech surveillance and security system that protects the property 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The facility also sells a wide variety of packing and moving supplies onsite. During the entire month of November all supplies, including boxes, locks, carton cutters, tape, covers, guard kits and more, will be subject to a 25% discount—as a way to say thanks to everyone who helped make the facility a success, but also to provide added relief in the lead up to the stressful holiday season.
Through a three-month-long fundraiser for the ABLE Network, a non-profit organization, the Kingston facility has been raising money in a company-wide effort to enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Currently the total amount raised sits at $3,200, and the company as a whole is well on its way to meeting its target of $6,000 by the end of November. The fundraising initiative sees $5 from the rental of every new storage unit go to the ABLE Network, which empowers program participants to live more fulfilling, self-sufficient lives.
