As tornadoes wreaked havoc across the Midwest earlier this month, Access Self Storage and other businesses in Lancaster, Texas, banded together to provide relief for their struggling neighbors. On April 7, the self-storage company hosted a cookout for the victims of tornadoes in the area and the many people helping cleanup and repair efforts. Bienvenidos Restaurant and Cantina Owner Vivian Chastain provided breakfast burritos for the masses in the morning, and employees from Access and volunteers from First Baptist Church-Dallas grilled hot dogs all afternoon. The event also included an inflatable obstacle course for kids. “In a situation like this, you help out where you can,” says Principal Doug Hunt, “and where we can help is a hot meal and storage.” Access Self Storage is also offering rental discounts for those affected by the tornadoes.
