RES Management Increases Traffic, Leads With New Website

RES Management, a self storage management company out of the Carolinas, formerly The Heyward Companies, recently partnered with WebWorks for Self Storage to revamp its website. The new version of the site ( has a much-improved user-interface and cleaner design.

That was the goal of the switch to WebWorks – a cleaner design and better user-interface – but the most beneficial features WebWorks has provided have been those that aren’t visible or obvious.

Mark Amos, the Director of Information Technology at RES, has utilized the ability to listen to phone calls through the administrative side of the site. Amos listens to every call and then categorizes the reason for the call.

“Being able to break it down and say ‘this is how many calls were leads and this is how many that weren’t’ is just a great piece of the puzzle to being able to figure out where our customers are coming from and what they’re looking for,” Amos said.

The calls and leads have steadily increased since the site launched on March 1. Amos attributes that to the user-interface and improved search engine optimization (SEO).

“I’ve actually called a few of the customers that I’ve known have come from the website and asked them, ‘What drew you?’” Amos said. “They said ‘just the overall feel of the website. It’s crisp. It’s clean.’ It’s the perfect representation for our site.”

Coming up with a perfect representation of RES Management was not easy because of the multiple brands the company represents in North Carolina and South Carolina. Currently, RES Management has eight different brands and 18 facilities. So the challenge for the WebWorks team was finding a way to represent each brand but not make the site design too busy.

“We had our ideas and they had theirs and between the two merging everything, it just came together as something we’re really proud of,” Amos said.

Along with the ability to listen to phone calls, other additions to the RES Management website included a storage calculator, lead tracking, storage tips and the ability for customers to reserve a unit or pay bills online.

Amos has been so pleased with the results that he has told friends in the self storage industry that a relationship with Red Nova Labs, the umbrella company for WebWorks and, is one of the best decisions his company has ever made.

“Bobby (Curiel, account strategist) was very attentive to everything we needed or wanted and very informative,” Amos said. “He’s knowledgeable on what should be and what shouldn’t be. Overall, everything that we were promised is what we received and any suggestions or changes we had, they jumped all over making the updates immediately.”
