A-American Self-Storage Joins US Storage Centers in the Fight for the Kure

In recent news, US Storage Centers (USSC) was named the third party management company for ten A-American Self-Storage properties. As part of the management agreement, A-American will join USSC in supporting Kure It Cancer Research, a non-profit dedicated to funding innovative cancer research. Since 2007, US Storage Centers has partnered with Kure It by implementing two unique programs at their 27 participating properties. In the Store for the Kure program, operators increase tenant rents by $.50 per month, with that increase donated to research. Round up for Research is an additional opportunity for raising funds, with tenants invited to round up their rent to the next dollar, or an amount of their choice, to be included in their payment as a donation. Through the two programs, US Storage Centers raises nearly $9,000 for Kure It each month. “By welcoming A-American Self Storage to the US Storage Centers family, we will have an even bigger impact in the fight against cancer,” said Vice President of Operations at US Storage Centers, Mike Brady. Witnessing the success and simplicity of these two programs, A–American owner Ed Olson was pleased to involve his properties in the philanthropic efforts of US Storage Centers. Said Ed, “A-American has always been heavily involved in local and national charities, so we are proud to join forces with a company that embraces charitable giving. Partnering with Kure It fits in nicely with our corporate philosophy. It’s a win-win situation, and we hope that other storage operators join us in this mission.” Along with US Storage Centers, the storage industry raised over $134, 000 for Kure It Cancer Research in 2011. Said Kure It Director Karen Jones, “The storage industry remains a major contributor to our efforts to fund critical research. We are honored to receive the support of A-American, and we look forward to the new breakthroughs and treatments that these funds will bring about.” About Kure It Kure It is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise money for research specialists conducting innovative projects to better treat and ultimately cure kidney and other underfunded cancers.
