Numerous Firearms Stolen From Chillicothe, Ohio Self-Storage Facility
Police in Chillicothe, Ohio are investigating a reported theft at a local self-storage facility after multiple items, including firearms and electronics, were discovered missing from a storage unit.
The incident was reported at Chillicothe Self Storage located at 67 Enterprise Place Drive. According to the locker owner, his storage unit, was broken into sometime within the past two weeks. He was alerted by the storage facility’s management that the lock on his unit had been cut.
When he arrived and inspected the unit, he found that the industrial shipping container lock was missing, which "would require a power tool to remove." Two televisions, fishing gears, power tools, and a slew of firearms were missing, including one of each of the following:
- Remington 870 Express shotgun
- Mossberg 500 shotgun
- Unknown .410 shotgun
- .380 pistol
- .25 Derringer
- .22 long rifle
The front gate of the storage facility was found bent open, suggesting forced entry. The storage facility had several surveillance cameras around the property and is working with police to review footage in order to find the thief.
