Texas Woman Believes Storage Theft Was An "Inside Job"
A woman in Humble, Texas believes the theft of her belongings was an "inside job" by the storage company, CubeSmart, located at 1705 Atascocita Road.
She is hoping to get money back through an insurance claim, but still wanted to alert reporters to "warn others about the lack of security and the lack of action by the facility owners."

In a video, the tenant shows that the door lock leading to her unit is not operational, allowing anyone to walk in. Then she approaches her unit and informs the reporter with her that someone had changed her lock since her last visit. "That's how I found out [about the theft]. I had to get someone to cut it off."
The woman shows that her unit is in disarray, with many empty boxes and some broken furniture. She says CubeSmart told her to simply call on her insurance policy, but she wants further reimbursement."I do want reimbursement ... for the lack of security, and because I just don't feel like a value customer."
She guesses 15-20 other people have experienced similar problems based on some of the location's Google reviews . She says others have warned about theft, recommending new tenants take photos of everything they store because stuff has a tendency to "mysteriously disappear." One reviewer says they lost $4,500 and felt it was an inside job as well.
"This is a huge setback," she said. "This is my home away from home and it was destroyed."
Reporter Devon Clark say when he contacted this particular location's manager, he was hung up on. When he called back, he was then referred to corporate but has not received a return call.
