Universal Storage Group Expands with 11 New Facilities Across the U.S.
Universal Storage Group (USG) has added 11 new properties to its growing portfolio of professionally managed self-storage sites.
- Wilkes-Barre Storage Units, a newly built facility located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., opened in January 2025 under USG management.
- Blackjack Self Storage in Starkville, Miss., owned and developed by Clark Properties, is now managed by USG. Strategically located near Mississippi State University, it serves both students and the surrounding community.
- SILO Self Storage of Port Wentworth, GA and SILO Self Storage of Monroe, Ga., both owned by White Oak Capital under the leadership of John Hampton, have joined the USG family.
- Self Storage of Rochester and West Circle Storage, two premier facilities in Rochester, Minn., came under USG management in mid-2025.
- Big Bass Storage in Hartwell, Ga., will be managed as an annex to Tiger Self Storage in Anderson, S.C., MSM’s 2024 New Facility of the Year. USG is proud to partner once again with owner/developer Michael Phillips on this new project.
- Drive Thru Self Storage in Salem, Va., opened in early 2025 under USG oversight.
Looking ahead, three state-of-the-art facilities are slated to open in Q4 2025 under USG management:
- Satisfaction Storage in Mabank, Texas, a newly built facility developed by Gregg Kidd, featuring Nokē Smart Entry locks, contractor bays, parking, and a modern conference room;
- Classic Self Storage in Dawsonville, Ga., a brand-new development that will include retail storefronts, office spaces, and a common conference room; and
- Somers Storage Center in Somers, N.Y., with ownership by Gleneida Realty, Inc. will open in late 2025 to serve the storage needs of the Somers community.
To maintain its exceptional track record of client service and success, USG has expanded its professional team across field operations, finance, sales, marketing, and training. Over the past several months, the company has also implemented new AI-driven tools and technologies designed to enhance efficiency, optimize marketing and staffing investments, and further elevate the level of service that clients have come to expect from USG.
