Effective October 15, 2013 Robert (“Bob”) Francis, President and Principal of The Herron Group of Kissimmee, Florida, has joined Devon Self Storage as Devon’s Regional Vice President – Operations responsible for Devon’s southeastern self storage assets. Mr. Francis will report to Angus Morrison, Devon’s Executive Vice President – Operations. In this capacity Bob will be responsible for supervising 23 sites in six states totaling 1,609,000 square feet with 44 employees and one Regional Director and two Area Managers reporting to him. The 23 sites collectively have approximately 10,900 current tenants.

Mr. Francis, an icon in the self storage industry, has over 25 years of active involvement in self storage. Bob started his career with Storage USA and has also worked with Public Storage and Southern Self Storage. In 2004 he formed The Herron Group to provide self storage management services as well as consulting and feasibility services.

During his long and distinguished career he served nine years on the national Self Storage

Association Board of Directors including holding the Chairmanship in 2008. In addition he has served on the Florida Self Storage Association Board of Directors and was on the former Southeast Regional Board of the Self Storage Association. Mr. Francis currently is a licensed Real Estate broker in the State of Florida.

Bob presently co-instructs the Self Storage Association’s Advanced Class on Valuation & Acquisition. Bob co-formulated the class with Jeff Humphrey, Devon’s Senior Vice President – Asset Management and together they teach the class twice a year in different locations throughout the US. It is the only advanced class of its kind in the self storage industry. Mr. Francis is a Certified Property Manager and resides in Orlando, Florida, where he will continue to be based.
