Alaska Self Storage Lien Bill Approved, Moves to House floor
Currently, the state of Alaska does not have an official law, code, or statute for liens on self-service storage facilities. This may be changing.
On February 14, 2024, Alaska HB97 was approved by the Judiciary Committee. The bill, which would bring a self storage lien law to the last remaining state without one, now moves to the House floor.
HB97 is described as "An Act relating to self-storage facilities for personal property, including vehicles and watercraft; distinguishing self-storage facility liens from another type of storage lien; and excluding self-storage liens from the treatment of certain unclaimed property."
