Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA), the largest state self-storage association in the nation, announced that it has surpassed $3 million in lifetime donations to Shriners Children’s Texas, marking a major milestone in the association’s ongoing support for children and families in need. This year alone, TSSA members raised more than $400,000, and association representatives recently visited the Galveston hospital to take a tour and present the check for 2025 fundraising efforts.

Throughout the year, and especially during TSSA’s Big Ideas in Storage Annual Conference, members participate in various fundraising activities benefiting the hospital. From raffle ticket sales and live and silent auctions to the Charity Casino Night and Poker Tournament that kicks off the event, members continue to show strong support for the cause.

TSSA’s fundraising success is driven largely by member generosity. Monetary pledges account for a substantial share of contributions, while donated auction items expand fundraising opportunities and encourage involvement from attendees.

In 2025, the Texas self-storage community once again demonstrated its commitment to giving back through strong financial support for Shriners Children’s Texas. Contributions from members fueled this year’s total, including an exceptional $250,000 donation from longtime member and passionate philanthropist George Watson of Steelcreek Management, LLC, whose generosity will positively impact Shriners families for years to come.

Funds raised through TSSA support specialized pediatric medical care, innovative treatments and compassionate services provided by Shriners at no cost to families, helping improve the lives of young patients across Texas.

TSSA extends sincere appreciation to every member who donated, bid on auction items, volunteered or helped spread the word. Their continued support ensures the association’s legacy of giving continues to live on.

Why Shriners Children’s Texas

Shriners Children’s Texas has pioneered major advancements in pediatric specialty care, including treatment for orthopedic conditions, spinal cord injuries, burns and cleft lip and palate.
