Seven days in a portable storage unit helped a Chatham-Kent (CK) YouTuber raise $13,206.10 for charity, surpassing the campaign’s $12,000 goal.

Organized by Exordia Creative and Portable Storage, the fundraiser benefited the Children's Centre Treatment Foundation of CK. Exordia Creative team member Isaac Davey entered the furnished unit on Monday, October 19, and remained inside for seven consecutive days. Donations allowed participants to have items removed from his temporary living space.

"Near the beginning of the week, I was pretty good, but near the end of the week, as things were disappearing, it was a little bit lonely and a little bit uncomfortable," said Davey.

By the end of the challenge, 52 items had been removed, including his bed, pillows, blankets, and couch.

"It was kind of what I expected, but I honestly wasn't expecting my bed to be gone," Davey continued. "Near the end, we were running out of items. We eventually put up my sleeping bag once my bed had sold."

Just seven items remained when the fundraiser ended: a mini production light, production light, sleeping bag, LEGO set, garbage can, shelf, and mini-fridge.

Davey livestreamed the entire challenge on his YouTube channel, @isank27, with about 70 viewers watching at any given time.

"It was fun. Obviously, it was a little challenging, but I like the weeklong challenge idea and putting a charity behind it," Davey said.

He said he would consider taking part in a similar fundraiser again.
