StoreEase, developer of the AI-native self-storage operating platform EaseOS, has partnered with Sierra to deliver an AI agent designed to provide omnichannel customer service across self-storage operations.
The companies said the agent uses the same context and rules across phone, web and facility lobby interactions and can be deployed under an operator's own brand and name.
The agent is integrated with a range of self-storage software systems, access control vendors and payment processors. Through the EaseOS platform, operators can provide the agent with secure access to the systems they already use, enabling deployment in as little as two weeks, according to StoreEase.
The partnership launched in late 2025. Since then, StoreEase and Sierra have worked together to train the agent across an expanding range of customer journeys and refine its performance using real-world interactions.
Sierra was co-founded by Bret Taylor, former Salesforce co-CEO and former OpenAI board chair. The company provides AI customer agents for enterprise clients, with customers reported to include roughly 40 percent of the Fortune 50, as well as SiriusXM, Sonos, ADT and Chime.
StoreEase said the partnership is focused on measuring customer outcomes rather than simply tracking automation or containment rates.
"The industry has been optimizing the wrong number," said Josh Boyd, CEO of StoreEase. "An automation rate tells you the AI avoided a human. It tells you nothing about whether the customer was helped. We built this partnership around outcomes, a payment made, access restored, a lease signed, because that is what earns a customer's loyalty and grows an operator's revenue."
The company also said its pricing model is based on outcomes rather than the volume of conversations or calls handled by the AI agent.
"We price on outcomes because that is the only number that aligns our success with our customers' success. When our operators win, we win,” Boyd said.
From Answers to Actions
StoreEase's AI agent is designed to complete customer requests rather than simply carry on a conversation. The company said the agent currently handles approximately 30 workflows, each of which ends with an action such as posting a payment, checking live inventory, processing a move-out, restoring access following a resolved delinquency or signing a new lease.
Sierra provides the AI reasoning and conversational capabilities, while StoreEase contributes self-storage operational expertise and trains the agent to handle industry-specific workflows. EaseOS connects the agent with facility management software, access-control systems and payment platforms, with guardrails built into each action.
StoreEase said the technology has also produced operational and financial benefits for its facilities. After-hours calls that previously went to voicemail can now be converted into leads, with the company reporting hundreds of new leads, a 2 percent to 3 percent increase in move-ins and hundreds of thousands of dollars in increased customer lifetime value.
The company also said it has onboarded additional facilities while supporting them with fewer people per site. Customer review scores have remained steady, according to StoreEase.
Platform Available to Industry
StoreEase said the platform is available beyond its own managed facilities and can integrate with many of the industry's most widely used self-storage software systems. Operators can deploy the agent under their own branding in as little as two weeks, the company said.
"Self-storage is rarely a fun purchase. People come to us in a moment of need, a move, a downsize, a loss," said David Wu, CTO of StoreEase. "Serve those moments well and a customer stays for years."
