Federal investigators searched a Public Storage facility in Langhorne, Pa. (Middletown Township, Bucks County), as part of an ongoing terrorism investigation involving two suburban Philadelphia teens accused of throwing improvised explosive devices outside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s residence.

Authorities executed a search warrant March 9 at the facility, which is located on South Flowers Mill Road. According to multiple reports, investigators recovered materials related to explosives from the teens' storage unit during the search.

The investigation centers on Emir Balat, 18, of Langhorne and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, of nearby Newtown. Prosecutors allege the pair traveled to Manhattan on March 7 and ignited improvised explosive devices during a protest outside Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residence.

According to the federal criminal complaint, Balat allegedly threw one device into the crowd before igniting a second device and dropping it near several NYPD officers. Investigators later determined one device contained triacetone triperoxide (TATP), a volatile explosive used in several ISIS-inspired attacks.

In addition to the storage facility search, federal agents also searched the suspects’ homes in Bucks County as investigators gathered evidence related to the case.

Both men have been charged in the Southern District of New York with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and using a weapon of mass destruction. They are being held without bail while the investigation continues.
