Calcumate has launched Calcumate3D, a rebuilt version of its 3D storage size guide that incorporates seven years of customer feedback, usage data and industry experience from deployments across more than 50 countries.
The Melbourne, Australia-based company said the new platform is designed to help self-storage operators engage prospective customers, demonstrate the amount of space they may need and collect prospect information that can support more personalized customer interactions.
Calcumate3D features a redesigned interface, a new stacking algorithm, interactive 3D visualization and more than 150 3D models. The platform also includes dynamic space estimation, mobile-first functionality and streamlined lead capture.
The new stacking algorithm is designed to provide a more realistic representation of how belongings can be arranged inside a storage unit. It can account for smaller items being placed inside larger ones and make use of space beneath tables, on shelves and in other areas that previously may have gone unused.
When enabled by operators, the interactive 3D feature allows prospective customers to view their virtual storage space from multiple angles, zoom in and out and see a 3D person positioned in front of the unit to provide a sense of scale.
The platform's dynamic space estimation automatically updates space requirements as users add items, eliminating the need to manually select a Calculate function.
Calcumate also redesigned the interface for mobile devices while maintaining functionality across larger screens. Operators can configure lead-capture fields to collect contact information and other data, including details about a prospect's home size and the items they plan to store.
Calcumate CEO Ross Metherell said the company used its experience in the market to develop the new platform. “Calcumate3D is much more than a redesign. We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from seven years in market, thousands of facilities and millions of calculations, and rebuilt the product from the ground up. Our goal was to make finding the right amount of space as simple and engaging as possible, while giving operators rich information about every prospect. The result is a dramatically improved experience that we believe will help operators better engage prospective customers and reduce the amount of manual assistance required during the rental journey.”
Calcumate3D is available to new and existing customers, including through Calcumate's partners. The company said the product is designed as a near drop-in upgrade for existing customers, requiring minimal implementation work.
Paid Calcumate3D plans are offered at the company's existing published pricing, with no additional premium for the expanded functionality. Prospective customers can also trial the full product before selecting a paid plan. The new version does not include a free plan, although the previous version of Calcumate will remain available for sale.
Calcumate plans to demonstrate the new platform at FEDESSA 2026 in Wiesbaden, Germany; MSM's THE Show in Atlanta; and SSAA GC26 on Australia's Gold Coast.
