Storage.com and Boomer Esiason Foundation Partner to Support Cystic Fibrosis Research

Storage.com, an online resource that helps storage consumers find, compare, and rent self storage throughout the United States, is partnering with the  Boomer Esiason Foundation to support cystic fibrosis research efforts and empower the 30,000 adults and children around the nation who live with cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disorder that produces thick mucus that clogs lungs and prevents the creation of natural enzymes to break down food and absorb nutrients. Though the length and quality of life for those living with cystic fibrosis has drastically changed over the last few years, funding for cystic fibrosis research is always needed in order to find more effective treatments for those living with cystic fibrosis.

The fight against cystic fibrosis is an issue close to Storage.com, which is owned and operated by B² Interactive, a full-service digital marketing agency in Omaha, Neb. B² Interactive’s social media firm, Hurrdat Social Media, in Lincoln, Neb., has had a long relationship with the Boomer Esiason Foundation and its president, Dave Rimington.

“Over the years, we have had first-hand experience with not only the passion that Dave and the Boomer Esiason Foundation team have, but also the incredible good the foundation can do,” said Bill Hipsher, CEO of Storage.com and co-founder of B² Interactive. “With our flagship self storage website, Storage.com, we are fortunate to have a vehicle that can help individuals and causes throughout the year.”

“As our annual Storage.com college scholarship program was winding down at the end of the summer, we found the next opportunity to do something positive with the Boomer Esiason Foundation,” Hipsher continued. “Working with Dave, Michelle, and the rest of the Esiason.org team has been a really rewarding opportunity, and we can’t wait to see how the Storage.com platform can help their cause between now and the end of October.”

Starting September 10, 2014, at the Self Storage Association Fall Conference and Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nev., and continuing through the end of the month, Storage.com will make a donation to the Boomer Esiason Foundation for each new facility that joins the Storage.com member network. Also, for each new storage rental move-in booked through Storage.com during the months of September and October, Storage.com will make a donation to the foundation. With thousands of storage units rented every month in all areas of the country, anyone can join the cause.

Dave Rimington has served as President of the Boomer Esiason Foundation since 1995. Rimington will also be at the Storage.com booth during the SSA Fall Conference and Trade Show to spread awareness about cystic fibrosis and the foundation. “We are so excited to partner with Storage.com in this cause-marketing campaign, and are grateful for their help in our fight against cystic fibrosis,” said Rimington.

A former NFL and college football standout, Rimington befriended Boomer Esiason in the 1980s when they both played for the Cincinnati Bengals and has been involved with the foundation for 20 years.

“We are thrilled to have Dave Rimington join us at the SSA Trade Show,” said Nick Bilava, Director of Sales and Marketing for Storage.com. “Those who meet him will appreciate his passion for putting a spotlight on cystic fibrosis and the Boomer Esiason Foundation, and we’re honored to join in that effort.”

The partnership with the Boomer Esiason Foundation will be a pilot program for Storage.com, which will open the door for Storage.com to participate in other causes important to the company and its members in the near future.
