Edison Properties Partners With NYC Charities to Help Those in Need This Holiday Season

It’s become a holiday tradition: Instead of spending money on decorations, Edison Properties and its various businesses are once again teaming up with worthy charities this season to make the holidays brighter for New Yorkers in need.

In addition to making a $20,000 donation to the Partnership for the Homeless, Edison is participating in the organization’s annual toy drive for homeless New York City kids, setting up collection boxes at all 17 Manhattan Mini Storage locations, as well as The Hippodrome office building in Midtown – home to Executive Suites and Edison Offices – along with Edison’s two WorkSpace Offices locations, in SoHo and Inwood, and its residential tower, The Ludlow, on the Lower East Side. The public is asked to drop off unopened, unwrapped gifts at any of these donation centers. Forty extra-large Manhattan Mini Storage boxes will also be donated to the Partnership to facilitate toy collection among non-Edison businesses.

Edison is simultaneously partnering with LivePerson, the online marketing and web

analytics company, and the charity volunteer program FeedingNYC to supply boxes that will be used to pack up complete Thanksgiving dinners, which will then be hand-delivered to the doors of families in need across all five New York City boroughs. Manhattan Mini Storage customers can also contribute to this effort by “adopting a box” for $35, and anyone who adopts a box is eligible to receive 10 percent off new storage rentals.

“We feel that helping out our fellow New Yorkers is the best way to celebrate the holidays,” said Stacy Stuart, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Human Resources for Edison Properties. “Every child deserves toys for Christmas and Chanukah, and every family deserves a delicious, wholesome Thanksgiving dinner. So we want to do whatever we can to help make that happen.”

The Partnership for the Homeless toy drive begins Nov. 29 – Black Friday – and runs through Dec. 12. Toys will be distributed by volunteers at an all-day holiday party for children on Dec. 14. The FeedingNYC meal delivery event takes place Nov. 26 at Chelsea Piers, on Pier 60, 23rd Street and West Side Highway, in Manhattan. For more information and to make a donation or volunteer, people can visit https://www.feedingnyc.org.
